In an interview with AFP, lead guitarist Kirk Hammett tells them that “We’re four angry guys.” "These songs have been written with a lot of anger, a lot of aggression, with a real sort of vision to do that," he said. The album features 12 tracks, kicking off the list with “Hardwired”. The song stays true to the band’s DNA and roots with its ultra-fast beat with enraged, nihilistic lyrics that remind us their early days of “Kill ‘Em All”.The reason behind the new album’s name is to make "a statement on the human condition and how we all kind of do things that we know are bad for us but we do it anyway," Hammett said. "We are hardwired to be a little naughty, a little bad, and on the extreme end of that, some people just self-destruct because they just can't get enough of that bad stuff."

The band recently made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and sung one of their classic hits, Enter Sandman. However, their performance isn’t what you’ll usually expect from them, it’s quite the polar opposite to be frank. Instead of putting up an energetic, angsty show accompanied with a mosh pit full of adrenaline fans rocking out with them, the guys traded their professional music instruments with classroom instruments.Xylophones, toy cymbals, handclappers and ukuleles were spotted in their new rendition of Enter Sandman. The band performed with The Roots and Jimmy Fallon, all who were seen clad in Metallica t-shirts. Metallica on the other hand returned the favour by donning either The Roots or The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon t-shirts. The new twist will bring you back in time and make you reminisce your childhood days.
