Two of the victims are still in critical condition. As for the rest, one is currently stable and another sustained minor injury. One more is seriously injured in the leg and had to have his legs amputated on the site in order to save his life. The 23-year-old worker from Pakistan found himself trapped when the bridge collapsed. A fellow construction worker said he was driving a forklift when the tragedy occurred. He tried to escape but couldn’t make it out on time. When the structure gave way, his legs were pinned under the rubble and in between the wreckage of the forklift.Image: New Straits Times

According to a Vietnamese construction worker, they were having their lunch break and were seated under the bridge when it gave way. When the structure fell, those under the bridge were buried under the concrete.Image: Hype.my
The bridge was being built to link SP Setia’s KL Eco City to The Gardens Mall and was already 80% completed. The construction site is located near Kampung Haji Abdullah Hukum in Jalan Bangsar. SP Setia said they are still assessing the situation and is working closely with the relevant authorities.
