PETALING JAYA: An intruder who got onto the tracks of the Sungai Buloh-Kajang MRT line near Kwasa Damansara here this evening, caused a partial shutdown of services.

A tweet by MyRapidKL said they had no choice but to shut down power partially for safety purposes and to detain the intruder.

Feeder buses were then deployed between Kwasa Sentral and Sungai Buloh to ferry stranded passengers to their destinations.

When contacted, Prasarana Malaysia Bhd head of communications and strategic marketing Lim Jin Aun said the intruder was spotted at 5.30pm and quickly detained by security personnel.

Train services only resumed at 6.50pm, he added.

“We would like to advise passengers not to intrude into the tracks as they can be electrocuted or knocked down,” Lim told FMT.

Investigations are underway to determine how the intruder entered the area of the tracks and his motive for doing so.
