It doesn’t matter whether you’re six or 60, it is absolutely satisfying to spend a day at an outdoor water theme park, especially under the scorching hot weather.
So when we heard that a certain island state up north finally opened the doors to its first ever water theme park, we knew it will likely be an instant hit.
Last Saturday, ESCAPE in Teluk Bahang, Penang launched ESCAPE Waterplay as the second phase of the outdoor theme park after ESCAPE Adventureplay, which opened in 2012.
The water theme park has a total of 20 attractions for all to enjoy.
And you know what else is going to make ESCAPE a popular destination among thrill seekers? They’re currently planning to build the longest water slide in the world!
Spanning one whole kilometre long, you will start off by sitting 420m on top of a hill in the theme park. The slide will bring then bring you across Jalan Teluk Bahang next to a pedestrian link bridge, all the way down to a swimming pool in the water theme park.
The hilltop will also act as the starting point for several other rides, such as the luge (downhill sleds), zip coasters and tubby slides, which will all be part of the new ESCAPE Gravityplay slated to open in December 2018.
This is exciting news for Penangites and Malaysians alike because you know how much we love water slides!
According to The Star, ESCAPE was even rated the top theme park in Malaysia by TripAdvisor. So all the more reason to bring your friends and family there!
