Adidas fans, you might want to pay close attention to the heart-breaking news we’re about to share.
In a recent interview with the Financial Times, Adidas CEO Kasper Rorsted said that the company is planning to pull the shutter of all of its stores in the next few years.
The decision was made to focus more on online sales, therefore shifting the whole operation online.
“Over time, we will have fewer stores but they will be better,” Rorsted told the Financial Times.
He added that “Our website is the most important store we have in the world. It has priority when we hire, when we allocate our resources and when we build our infrastructure.”
The lifestyle brand plans to double its e-commerce sales to €4 billion (RM18.99 billion) by 2020 from €1.6 billion (RM7.59 billion) in 2017.
Adidas has 2,500 stores worldwide and 13,000 additional mono-branded franchise stores.
Yikes, what do you think of this news, guys?
Honestly, we prefer going to physical stores when it comes to buying shoes because you’ll never know if the shoe will fit you right or not. Plus, you get to rock your new kicks immediately!
Let’s hope they won’t close down the Adidas stores in Malaysia anytime soon.
