haze penang : The current haze situation in Penang is expected to last until September due to the hot weather.
State Environment Commitee chairman Phee Boon Poh said the earthquakes in Lombok, Indonesia were a contributing factor.
“Penangites will have to contend with the haze for another month,” he told theSun. Phee also said the hot spell is expected to last until October.
As of 2pm Wednesday, the Air Pollutant Index (API) at Gelugor and Butterworth showed a moderate reading of 65.
Meanwhile, State Health Committee chairman Dr Afif Bahardin has advised Penangites, especially those with respiratory ailments, to take precautions.
