Floods to hit East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia in Mid-November to December

Major rainpour is about to hit the east coast of the Peninsular, warns the Pahang Meteorological Department. "We expect rainfall from the second week of November with heavy rains from December to January, next year. If there is continuous rainfall, massive floods are likely," a department spokesman said. All relevant parties have been moved to action. Consider this your warning if you live on the east coast, a storms about to hit your home. Make preparations now. 

Residents will be evacuated before the flood waters reach dangerous levels and the Civil Defence Force will acts as a secretariat to oversee flood relief operations. The police, Welfare Department, and Fire Rescue Department are also getting ready for the rain. 

A total of 107 forward bases will have food stockpiled for up to three days beginning November 7 and a warning will be issued 48 hours in advance. 666 temporary relief centres have been identified, capable of housing 165, 650 flood victims with additional centres available should the need arise.
