UPSR candidates will sit for the English Language paper on comprehension and writing tomorrow.
ALOR SETAR: The Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) examination in Kedah will proceed according to schedule despite the passing of the Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah.
The education ministry said in a statement that the UPSR examination scheduled for Sept 11, 12, 13, 14 and 18, which involved 8,085 examination centres; 51,363 examination staff; and 443,794 candidates throughout the country, would be held as scheduled.
UPSR candidates will sit for the English Language paper on comprehension and writing tomorrow.
All registered examination candidates and staff, including UPSR candidates in Kedah, must be present at the examination centres to sit for the examination although tomorrow has been declared as a state public holiday.
Meanwhile, the education ministry expressed its condolences to the Kedah royal family.
Prime Minister Najib Razak, who arrived in Washington this morning for a meeting with President Donald Trump, has ordered flags to be flow at half-mast for two days from tomorrow.
