But one of the best girl bands to have ever existed is definitely the Spice Girls.
You either wanted to be Posh Spice (Victoria Beckham), Baby Spice (Emma Bunton), Ginger Spice (Geri Halliwell), Sporty Spice (Mel C), or Scary Spice (Mel B). Each member had their own personas and fan base.
All of their songs were complete bangers – Wannabe, Stop, Spice Up Your Life, and Say You’ll Be There, just to name a few. The group sold a jaw-dropping 85 million records worldwide and went on an indefinite hiatus in December 2000 and since then, each of the members had their own solo careers in music, fashion, and TV.
Well, Spice Girls fans, we’ve got great news, one that you want, that you really, really want. The best-selling female group of all-time will reportedly be reuniting in 2018 for a TV special and a compilation album!
An insider told UK site The Sun that “the five of them have been locked in secret talks since the summer, and finally they are all on-board for a 2018 reunion.”
“As it stands, they will be working together on a series of projects, which will include an album and a TV special celebrating the Spice Girls.”
According to several reports, it’s been very hard getting Victoria on board for a reunion but we guess it took a lot of convincing to get her to agree to this special project.
No word yet on what sort of TV special is in the works, or when will both the show and compilation album drop.
So, while we anticipate the return of the greatest girl band in the universe, let’s dig up those old Spice Girls records and relive those memories.
