Having the motivation and persistence to exercise every week or every day doesn't always come easy. For some, they may only last a month or even a week (to be honest, we’d probably only last a day).
So, if you’re trying to find some motivation, perhaps you need a change of surrounding, something with fresh air and beautiful surroundings. If you don’t know where to start your fitness journey, we’ve listed down seven of the best and scenic jogging trails around the Klang Valley.
#1 KLCC Park
Located in the heart of KL, this park not only gives you the majestic view of the Petronas Twin Towers but also the lush green, towering trees that surround the park. Boasting 50 acres, this park caters to everyone of all ages. They’ve got a children’s playground, wading pool, jogging track, and footpaths. If you stick around longer you might even get a chance to watch the water fountain show!

#2 Lake Gardens
Lake Gardens, or also popularly known as the Perdana Botanical Gardens, is definitely one of the most aesthetically pleasing parks we’ve ever seen. They’ve got these cool futuristic gold canopies that are frequently on every visitor’s Instagram feed. The green lung of KL also has its own Alice In Wonderland-ish gardens – the Sunken Garden, the Hibiscus Garden, and the Orchid Garden. If you have a lazy friend, you might want to bring them here for their first jogging session.

#3 Putrajaya
There are plenty of places you can jog at in Putrajaya and it's safe to say that you will be spoilt for choice. But one of the places that stood out the most would probably be at Taman Saujana Hijau at Presint 11 and the Putrajaya Botanical Garden. The Taman Saujana Hijau looks like something out of a fairytale movie while the botanical garden is equally stunning and even has a lake overlooking the iconic Putra Mosque. There’s also not that many cars in Putrajaya so yay to more fresh air!

#4 Bukit Jalil Park
Honestly, we didn’t even know this green gem existed until our colleague told us about it. The Bukit Jalil Park is a low-key place boasting 80 acres of jogging trails, picnic spots, gardens, and playground area. There’s also several ‘surprises’ waiting for you along your jogging routine – a traditional Malay wooden house, a Dutch windmill, a Chinese garden, and a Japanese garden.

Operating hours: 7am – 8pm daily
#5 Permaisuri Lake Gardens
Cheras folks love to frequent this place ever since it was opened in the 80s. The 40-hectre recreational park has a stunning lake, fountains, and even a few outdoor gyms! The lake is also popular for its fishing activities, so for fishing fans, you can also cool down and rest while doing your favourite activity after sweating it out at the park. Psst, if you’re lucky you might even catch a glimpse of our policemen making rounds on their horses!

#6 Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam
One thing we absolutely love about this place is that there’s plenty of fitness activities you can do in case you get bored of just jogging. You can challenge yourself with the obstacle courses at Skytrex Adventure, ride bikes, visit the ornament garden and even the four seasons temperate house! If you want to avoid the crowd or the scorching hot sun, our advice is to make your way here early in the morning.

#7 Kepong Metropolitan Park
There’s nothing more relaxing than jogging in this scenic park filled with green trees canopying the streets and beautiful kites conquering the blue sky. Instead of jogging, you can also cycle in this park, which has its own dedicated 3km bike trail around the picturesque lake. This park is prominently known for its kite-flying activities so you’ll get a chance to see kites of all sorts of colours and sizes!
