It was by far the most dramatic, memorable, emotional and longest election in Malaysian history.
The nation’s political landscape witnessed a dramatic change after it was announced that Pakatan Harapan had won 113 parliament seats out of 222 contested. That meant that they broke Barisan Nasional’s 60-year reign.
Now that the EC has confirmed the results, there’s only one thing left to do – a Prime Minister needs to be sworn in and a government needs to be formed.
Remember this day guys, as not only history will be written today, it’ll also break records and make headlines worldwide after Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is sworn in as Malaysia’s seventh Prime Minister.
When he's sworn in, he will officially be the oldest elected Prime Minister in the world at age 92 and also the only minister in Malaysia to hold the position twice.
Tun previously led the country for 22 years and soon, he will become one of the longest serving Prime Ministers in the world.
According to The Star, the Kedahan is set to be sworn in on Thursday, 5pm at Istana Negara after the Yang di-Pertuan Agong signs the appointment letter.
"We need to have this government today without delay. There is a lot of work that needs to be done," Tun Mahathir told the English daily.
So guys, don’t forget to tune in at 5pm as you’ll be witnessing an essential part of our nation’s history.
