Looks like Oprah Winfrey’s weight loss plans are going very well after revealing that she has shed more than 40 pounds (18kg) since she joined ‘Weight Watchers’, and she did it without having to sacrifice her favourite tacos and pasta!

The media mogul celebrated her latest weight loss success in a new commercial.  "Weight Watchers is easier than any other program I've ever been on. It's a lifestyle, a way of eating and a way of living that's so freeing. You never feel like you are on a diet and it works," she said in Weight Watchers’ new ad campaign.

Back in October 2015, Winfrey announced that she bought a 10 percent stake in ‘Weight Watchers’ and become its spokesperson. Several months later, she was already losing pounds and feeling the effects. “I can get up the steps in my house without stopping on the thirteenth step!” she said.

Over the years, Winfrey has always been open about her fluctuating weight, as seen on the diet-related segments on The Oprah Winfrey Show. In a 1988 episode, the talk show host celebrated her 67 pound (30kg) weight loss by wheeling out a wagon filled with animal fat.

"This has been the most difficult thing I have ever done in my life," Winfrey said at the time. "Those of you who are starting dieting, this is what 67 pounds of fat looks like. It's amazing to me that I can't lift it, but I used to carry it around every day. When you talk about making yourself the best you can be, I'm glad I did this for my heart, because my poor heart had to send blood to all of this. It's shocking to me."

That episode had gained the highest ratings in the history of the show.

With this new weight loss programme, Winfrey is now exercising more and also aims to take at least 10,000 steps a day without being deprived of her favourite food and snacks. Sounds like this new regime is working out for her!
