Lonely Planet recently released its list of top countries you need to visit in 2018. The countries consist of places across Asia, South America, Africa, and Europe.

If you’re planning to visit one of these continents, you can add these countries to your expanding bucket list and make your way there next year!

Without further ado, here are the top five countries you need to make your way to in 2018 according to Lonely Planet.

#1 Chile

Wouldn't it be super surreal to see tonnes of alpacas running around freely?

This beautiful lesser-known South American country tops the list and we can understand why. Chile has underrated beauty and breath-taking landscapes, making it an absolute must-visit especially for nature lovers. Just take a look at the Torres del Paine National Park which boasts stunning terrains – mountains, bright-blue icebergs, glaciers, granite formations, and also grasslands full of llamas roaming around.

#2 South Korea

Malaysians just love their Korean oppas, K-pop, K-dramas, K-beauty; basically almost everything Korean. This destination has always been a hit among our fellow countrymen so it’s about time you pay a visit to this country and see what the hype is all about. #3 Portugal

This place is definitely for the adventurous spirit, and if you’re a marine person, you’ll be delighted to know that it’s a whale shark haven!

#5 New Zealand

You’ve probably seen epic landscapes, phenomenal lakes, and nature’s wonderful natural light show – Aurora Australis in New Zealand. This place is packed with kiwis, fluffy, sheeps, and is of course well known for Lord of The Rings.
