Who knew that close to two decades later, the movie will span into nine installments, with the ninth one scheduled for release in 2020.
At one point, people (including us) were even wondering when will the Fast and Furious series ever end?
Well, it might not be ending anytime soon, but for one of its stars, his involvement in the movie might be.
If you’re a big fan of the movie franchise, you would know by now the feud between The Rock and Vin Diesel which apparently stems from the set of the Fast and Furious. It was reported that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson wasn’t happy with Diesel’s discipline problems.
Now, it seems that their beef has escalated to new levels and even on set.
In a recent interview with the Rolling Stones, the Jumanji star dished out that both him and Vin Diesel did not shoot any scenes together in the eighth installment of the Fast and Furious.
Johnson also addressed the feud and told the magazine that “Vin and I had a few discussions, including an important face-to-face in my trailer.”
“And what I came to realize is that we have a fundamental difference in philosophies on how we approach moviemaking and collaborating. It took me some time, but I'm grateful for that clarity. Whether we work together again or not.”
When asked whether he’ll appear in Fast and Furious 9, The Rock gave an unclear indication of his future involvement with the franchise by saying “I’m not quite sure”.
Honestly, it’ll be quite odd to see The Rock not being part of the ‘family’ anymore but if you still want to see him reprise his role as Luke Hobbs, don’t worry as his spin-off movie with Jason Statham titled Hobbs and Shaw is slated for release in 2019.
Guess Hobbs doesn’t want to see Toretto ever again?
We wish both stars the best of luck in their future endeavours.
