BN candidate says he is concerned about youth unemployment and will create job opportunities and develop small industries.
MEMBAKUT: Discussions have been held with Petronas about opening a branch campus of Universiti Teknologi Petronas in Kimanis, according to BN candidate Anifah Aman.
Anifah, who seeks a fourth term as Kimanis MP, said he has already found a suitable plot of land, of about 320 hectares (800 acres) for the proposed branch campus.
He said he was also concerned about youth unemployment, and a community college had been set up to equip the young with marketable skills.
We will continue to create job opportunities and develop small industries, he said.
He urged the people to vote wisely at the general election on May 9.
Anifah’s challenger is Karim Bujang of Parti Warisan Sabah, who was assemblyman for Bongawan for five terms between 1990 and 2013.
Karim has accused some quarters within the Sabah BN of trying to get rid of him as early as 2004, causing a rift between himself and Anifah at the time. However, both men said they had buried the hatchet.
